SAVVAĻA-MAZIRBE 300
2024
Exactly 300 km away from Savage, deep in the forest, lies a boat just like this one, overgrown among the trees, surrounded by grass and small shrubs. How it ended up there is unclear. The nearest coastline is more than 100 kilometers away. The boat's size and the inscription "Mazirbe" suggest it was used for sea fishing. With parts of its deck planks missing, the boat's skeleton is exposed, resembling the decaying body of an ancient forest creature. But this is not the end. The boat's wreck has become a shelter for spending the night. In dreams, it’s possible to understand how the boat came to be here. I've heard stories of incredible downpours that washed the boat to this spot, as well as rumors of a fisherman who couldn’t abandon his vessel, dragging it along until exhaustion forced him to leave it in the forest depths.
